An archive of crypto projects from 2017–2020 that didn't survive — but whose ideas might deserve a second life. Some were too early. Some were poorly executed. Many solved real problems the market wasn't ready for. This is their story.

The Timeline
The ICO Mania
2017 saw over 800 ICOs raise $6.2B. The energy was electric — builders, dreamers, and visionaries flooded in with ambitious ideas. ETH hit $1,400 and the future felt limitless.
2017
The Great Collapse
BTC crashed 84% from its ATH. Altcoins lost 90-99%. Funding dried up overnight. Many promising teams couldn't survive the bear market — not because the idea was bad, but because the timing was brutal.
2018
The Nuclear Winter
Surviving projects laid off 50-80% of staff. Regulatory uncertainty grew. The builders who stayed were forging the infrastructure that would power the next wave. Most of these ideas would later be validated by others.
2019
DeFi Summer & The Rebirth
DeFi Summer exploded and proved many 2017 ideas right — often rebuilt by new teams standing on the shoulders of these pioneers. The concepts lived on, even when the original projects didn't.
